Infrastructure improvements boost the economy in two ways. First, through direct employment of workers in the construction trades. Second, when these workers and their companies pump dollars into local and state economies.

The monies generated by Question 1 will be used to enhance communities throughout the state. Hundreds of proposals submitted by RIDOT and RIPTA — along with cities, towns and community organizations — were considered by the State Planning Council and its Transportation Advisory Committee.
